Daawa & Cultural Programs

Bena Charity Trust places great importance on Daawah (Islamic outreach) and cultural development, recognizing that true community transformation begins with nurturing values, identity, and moral guidance. Over the years, the Trust has implemented a wide range of Daawah and cultural initiatives that have made a meaningful impact across many communities in Malawi. Below is an expanded overview of what has been achieved:

The organization delivers a wide range of Daawah, cultural, and community initiatives aimed at strengthening Islamic knowledge, values, and social wellbeing. Regular programs in schools and communities include weekly Islamic lectures, Qur’an memorization circles, and youth engagement sessions designed to promote good morals, discipline, and strong Islamic identity.

Training workshops are offered to students, youth, and aspiring preachers, covering Islamic jurisprudence, leadership, character development, public speaking, and effective communication. Cultural activities such as Qur’anic competitions, Islamic exhibitions, book fairs, and celebrations of major Islamic events help preserve heritage and promote community participation.

Support is extended to mosques and Daawah centers through renovation assistance, provision of Qur’ans and Islamic books, and training for Imams and Muadhins. Women benefit from specialized programs on parenting, health, family life, and lessons in Qur’an and Arabic. Youth engagement is further strengthened through programs addressing social challenges, promoting good behavior, and nurturing talents in theatre, poetry, nasheeds, and various educational competitions.
